H&M Beauty – First Impressions

IMG_8535I know I’m a bit late with this review given that H&M’s makeup line reached stores about a couple of months ago, but it’s never too late to give you my impressions on it, right? 😉

I got to try the foundation, powder and blush at the store, but only got my hands on an eyeshadow single and a couple of lipsticks. The lipsticks I got are Brunette Ambition (left) and Deco Ruby (right), and the eyeshadow in Candied Almond

Brunette A Lipstick – H&M Beauty

Both colours are gorgeous, Brunette A is in line with this season’s taupe, brownish colours and Deco R is a beautiful crimson red, a bit on the rose side on me. They run very smoothly and have a nice scent not overpowering at all. I only wished they were more long-lasting, they last about an hour without lipliner. Also, they tend to smudge a bit, which doesn’t make your lips for a lovely sight after one hour. I will play around a bit more using powder and lipliner to see if I can get some more hours of wear from them.

Candied Almond Eyeshadow – H&M Beauty

The eyeshadow in Candied Almond is a lovely neutral to have, great as a transition colour, as a base or as a wash all over the lid. All in all, I find that if you are on a budget, you can build a nice collection of neutrals with these, although they are not the cheapest at 6 €, you could easily get cheaper and similar colours at KIKO for half the price (when in promotion).IMG_8527

I was greatly surprised with the variety of products, they have everything from makeup to skincare and accessories. They have nice sets and palettes all at very affordable prices as it is to expect from the brand. H&M makeup line is a great opportunity to try new colours and play with new looks without making a big dent in your wallet, and the quality is pretty good as well.
